Teachers actively engage young children in the learning process and encourage self-regulation in Learning Roots. Children are taught a variety of concepts, facts, skills, and small projects. They also gain independence and a sense of responsibility. Children are interdependent; they can work collaboratively or alone; teachers allow for a broader and more diverse range of acceptable roles and behaviours, resulting in the formation of teams and social bonds. Toys that are scientifically designed, safe, non-toxic, and age-appropriate are used in all classrooms to enhance the brain-based learning process.
